Rakno:The village protector (while editing)

Recently, I worked on editing a digital storytelling video on the topic "Rakandar." It was not just any village protector project; it felt special to me because it connected me to the stories I heard while growing up. Our mission was to create a captivating storytelling video that would showcase the bravery and selflessness of this unsung hero.

However, the challenge was not in shooting the footage but in editing it. My grandparents used to tell me these tales when I was little, and I always imagined what Rakandar would look like.

So, we started our project with great enthusiasm, traveling to the village of the Rakandar's origin. We met with locals and gathered stories about his life and times. We shot video capturing the beauty of the village, the vibrant culture of the people, and the heroic tales of the Rakandar's bravery.

However, as we began editing, we faced multiple problems. The main issue was our team's initial lack of coordination. Team members who were initially excited about the project started to lose interest. Some stopped responding to our messages, while others failed to deliver their assigned work on time. To make matters worse, we encountered many technical issues while editing. As it was our first time doing digital storytelling, we didn't have any idea about the technical aspects. There were a lot of challenges while putting together the various videos, selecting effects accordingly, and choosing the right software for editing. Adding music and subtitles was also very challenging. Adjusting the subtitles according to the voiceover was a particularly difficult part.

One of the harder parts was making the story flow well and ensuring that the emotions and faith stayed intact. Deciding which parts to keep and which to cut, without losing the meaning, was challenging. Editing "Rakandar: The Village Protector" was a journey of discovery and overcoming challenges with a positive intent. When I finished the final video, it felt like more than just a project. It felt like a way to keep old stories alive and pass them on to others.
